Swimming with Seals
Marine Dynamics Swimming with Seals

Experience the excitement of meeting one of the ocean’s most charismatic animals, the Cape Fur Seal, on an expert-guided seal dive with Marine Dynamics. Departing from the Great White House in Gansbaai, guests enjoy a scenic 20-minute boat ride to Dyer Island, with opportunities to spot seabirds, dolphins, and even whales along the way.
The dive takes place at Hospital and Batchelor Rock within the famous Geyser Rock Seal Colony, home to more than 60,000 Cape Fur Seals. Guided by experienced crew trained in seal behaviour, participants spend 20–30 minutes in the water watching these playful animals glide and spin around them in their natural environment.
Full wetsuits, gloves, booties, flippers, and flotation devices are provided for comfort and safety, while guides remain nearby throughout the experience. After the dive, guests cruise back to shore and can enjoy optional hot showers or a meal at the Great White House Restaurant (own account).
Marine Dynamics follows strict conservation and wildlife interaction protocols, ensuring a responsible and safe marine experience. This unforgettable small-group adventure also supports ongoing marine research and conservation through the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.
